We had a narrow one point win over Ballymac in round three last Sunday. Ballymac were the first to score a point from a free after five minutes and Jamie Moriarty had us level a minute later. Ballymac were playing the better football at this stage and two points from their outstanding number nine Aidan Breen had them two points in front. Alan O'Donoghue and Darren O'Brien added another two points for us. Ballmac came back with two more to leave them in front at half time. Half time score Ballymac 0-5 John Mitchels 0-3.
We started the better in the second half and had two early points from Jamie Moriarty. Ballymac kept plugging away and had two points from frees. With sixteen minutes gone Jamie Moriarty scored a wonderful goal after some great play from Shane McMahon and Darren O'Brien. Points from Oliver Coffey and Jamie Moriarty left us a point in front with only minutes remaining. Ballymac leveled with time nearly up. We were awarded a free and with the last kick of the game Jamie Moriarty put it over the bar to leave the full time score John Mitchels 1-8 Ballymac 0-10.
