Radio Kerry Terrace Talk Tribute to the Sheehy Family

Radio Kerry programme "Terrace Talk"which was a special live 2 hour broadcast, from our clubhouse, to honour the Sheehy family of Boherbee and their contribution to Kerry and Club football.
In attendance was Niall Sheehy, brother Brian was unable to attend due to illness and we wish him a speedy recovery. Sean Og could not attend but was represented by his son Ogie. Many tributes were paid to the memory of their late father John Joe and their late brother Paudie.
The broadcast was compered by the inimitable Weeshie Fogarty who brought the two hour show together in his usual professional manner.
The many guests on the show included club chairperson Brid McElligott, vice-chairman Pat Costello, Co.Board chairman Sean Walsh, Kerry Great Mikey Sheehy. Also on the show was 104 years young Dan Keating from Castlemaine. Former All-Ireland winning Mayo full-back Paddy Prendergast also contributed. All paid warm tributes to the Sheehy family. The large crowd in attendance acknowledged each contributor.
The music was supplied by our own Derry O Shea and by Peggy Sweeney who sang a specially commissioned song composed by Dan Keane from Knocknagoshel.
A DVD of the show will be available at a later date.
The club wishes to thank Radio Kerry Producer Eileen Moynihan and her crew who co-ordinated the whole show.
John Joe Sheehy captained Kerry All-Ireland winning team in 1926 and his son Sean Og emulated his father in 1962. Both Niall and Paudie won All-Ireland Senior medals with Brian winning a Junior All-Ireland medal. All won Kerry Senior Co.Championnship medals with John Mitchels.
