The team were victorious over Legion on Friday last. On Friday next the b team play away to Spa, Killarney. The C team game away to Tarbert was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

The teams continued on their winning ways when they played against Milltown/Castlemaine in round 3 of the second phase of the county league on Sunday last, these were great games of football with once again some fantastic football skills on display.
Final score Mitchels Green team; 4-10; Milltown/Castlemaine 3- 11. Green team; Shane McCarthy, Daniel Molloy, Dara Sheridan, James Sheehan, Michael Kelleher, Ryan Ward, Graham Hudson, Conor Morrison-O'Brien, Craig O'Brien, Padraig White, Darrion Hurley.
Final score Mitchels Gold team; 2-10; Milltown/Castlemaine 0-11. Gold team; Michael Lacey, Dylan O'Brien, Kenny Foran, Sean Gannon, Cian Barden, Dominic Craig, Jack Rogers, Mirilind Xhemoili, Tyreese Flaherty, Cian Canavan, Padraic O'Callaghan, Joshua Fitzgerald and Alex O'Shea. After the games the man of the match accolades were awarded to Ryan Ward and Steven Bowler. Well done to all the players. Training continues on Friday evening, our next match is Sunday 17th away to Annascaul.

The team travelled to Killarney to take on Dr. Crokes in a series of Challenge Matches on Saturday last; although short a number of regulars the boys that travelled gave it their all and played some fine football, Daniel Bowler, Patrick Pitman, Rian Costello, Darragh Moriarty, John O'Connor, Jordan Mason, Robert Kerins, David Kelleher, Ciaran O'Leary, Sean Dillane, Darragh McEvoy, Michael O'Sullivan and David O'Connor-Fitzgibbon represented the club. On Sunday next we play against Na Gaeil in Boherbee, all players are to be at the club grounds for 10.30 am. New players are welcome.
U-8Also short a few regulars, the under 8 team travelled to Killarney on Sunday last to play a challenge match. Mentors George, Mike, Diarmaid, James and Mark were delighted with the football that the team played with very accurate hand and foot passes and also some lovely goals and points scored by all the boys. The teams had a great morning on Saturday last when they travelled to Killarney for a challenge match against Dr. Crokes. Coaches Humphrey, Benny and Owen were very impressed by the boys and girls who played some brilliant football. Darragh O'Callaghan, Harry Rusk, William Sherin, Eva Flannagan, Jack O'Donoghue, Grainne Clifford, Paddy Rusk, Daithi Smullen, Andrew Kerins, Lucie O'Donoghue, Jacob O'Donnell and Jack Rusk were all fantastic on the day. The girls played Moyvane at home in the first round of phase 2 of the county league last Wednesday & recorded a good win. We were in control from the outset which gave the selectors a chance to give ever one some game time despite the downpour near the end of the match.This win sets us up nicely as we have a few tough matches ahead in the next few weeks. The girls that played last Wednesday were as follows, Caitlin O Sullivan, Amy Foley, Isabel Horgan, Rebecca Dennehy, Oonagh McGrath, Bernice O Shea, Niamh O Shea, Jamie Finnegan, Jade Powell, Lauren Houlihan,Casey Ann O Donnell, Rachel Kilgallen, Ruth Moriarty,Grace Myers,,Emma Carmody, Katie Laucher, Allana Dennehy,Claire O Connor,Chloe Murphy,Becky Fitzgerald,Lisa Costello,Clodagh O Sullivan & Alanna Blenerhassett. Our next game is at home against Abbeydorney on Monday the 11th of June at 6.00pm. We had our County League game against Spa Killarney last Friday evening. This was a great game of football and the girls gave it their all and were very unlucky to lose on a score line of Spa 1-11 John Mitchels 1-9. the team and scorers Are as follows:
Blathnaid Cotter, Rachel Mc Eniry, Lorna Moriarty, Leona O Shea (0-1), Ariane Finnigan, Isabel Horgan, Meave Carmody(0-1), Ashleigh Murphy(0-2),Sharon O Connor(0-2), Tara Fitzgearld(0-1), Kellie Tobin(1-1) Leanne O Brien (0-1) Sarah Kilgallen.
A promising point is 7 of our 13 players were on the score sheet.
Our next game in the League is on Wednesday 13th June in Killarney against Legion.
The match has a throw in at 7pm and a teamer will be issued when we meet at the clubhouse. All new members are welcome to join, come along Wednesday evening at 5-45pm and make yourself known to Jimmy, John or Joan.
