ANNUAL JOHN MITCHELS BLITZ.
The Blitz for 2012 will take place on Saturday July 7st, further details in the coming weeks.
SUMMER CAMP
This year summer camp will commence on Monday July 16th and finish on Friday July 20th.

U-16 LADIES
Training continues on Monday and Friday evening at 6.15 pm.
U-12
The teams made it four out of four on Sunday last when they were victorious over Annascaul in the second phase of the county league, these were fantastic games of football with once again some superb football skills on display.
Final score Mitchels Green team; 2-13; Annascaul 3-06. Green team; Shane McCarthy, Daniel Molloy, Dara Sheridan, James Sheehan, Michael Kelleher, Ryan Ward, Graham Hudson, Conor Morrison-O'Brien, Craig O'Brien, Padraig White, Darrion Hurley.
Final score Mitchels Gold team; 5-17; Annascaul 2-0. Gold team; Michael Lacey, Dylan O'Brien, Kenny Foran, Sean Gannon, Cian Barden, Kevin Williams, Dominic Craig, Jack Rogers, Mirilind Xhemoili, Tyreese Flaherty, Cian Canavan, Padraic O'Callaghan, Joshua Fitzgerald and Alex O'Shea. After the games the man of the match award was a very tough choice for the mentors with Michael Kelleher, Darrion Hurley and Dara Sheridan in contention for the green team and Kevin Williams, Tyreese Flaherty and Jack Rogers in contention for the gold team, after much deliberation Darrion Hurley and Tyreese Flaherty were chosen for their super performances on the night. Well done to all the players. Training continues on Friday evening. The next match is Sunday 24th home to Kilcummin at 7.00 pm.
U-10
The team played some challenge matches on Sunday last against our neighbours from Na Gaeil; these were very competitive matches with both teams playing excellent football and giving their all, we had two equally matched teams on the day with each team playing two matches each. David Kelleher, Daniel Bowler, Darragh McEvoy, Michael O'Sullivan, Tristen Kirwan, Patrick O'Brien, David O'Connor-Fitzgibbon, Rian Costello, Sean Dillane, Robert Kerins, David Callaghan, Jordan Mason, Darragh Moriarty, Alan Brosnan, John O'Connor, Sean Broderick, Dylan Duffy, Darragh Caplis and Dean Farrell represented the club, with Sean Dillane and Sean Broderick were named as man of the match for their teams on the day. On Sunday next we return to training in preparation for the annual blitz which will take place on July 7th, all players are to be at the club grounds for 10.30 am. New players are welcome.
U-8
The under 8 team had a very busy weekend, on Saturday they took part in the go games hosted by Kerins O'Rahilly's where they played against teams from Austin Stacks, Na Gaeil and Kerins O'Rahilly's and on Sunday last to play a challenge match. Mentors George, Mike, Diarmaid, James and Mark were absolutely thrilled with the football that the team played with for a second weekend in a row the hand and foot passes were very accurate and there were some lovely goals and points scored by all the boys. Austin Fitzgerald, Conor Kerins, Tony White, Cian Jones, Richard Silins, Cathal Murphy, Rory Clifford, Brian O'Donnell, Gearoid Costello, Ciaran Foran, Darragh Murphy, Jack O'Donoghue, Cormac Clifford, Mark Sheehan and Nathan Rogers represented John Mitchels over the weekend. The go games continue this week with the host club being Austin Stacks, these are provisionally fixed for Thursday evening, parents will be informed by text as soon as the fixture is finalised. On Sunday next we return to training at the club grounds from 10.30 am in preparation for the annual club blitz. New Players are welcome.
U-6
The teams had a fantastic morning on Sunday last when they played some challenge
matches against Na Gaeil. Coaches Humphrey, Benny and Sean were very delighted with the boys and girls who played some fantastic football. Daniel O'Connell, Georgia Kennedy, Rory Kelliher, Colin Fleming, Conor Dennehy, Killian O'Donnell, Jack O'Donoghue, Grainne Clifford, Luke Fleming, Darragh O'Shea, Cian Caplis, Jacob O'Donnell, Lea Kelliher, Christian Kennedy, Shane O'Sullivan, Andrew Kerins, Shay Kelleher, James Roche, Mark O'Connor, Michael Duffy and Alex Sheridan were all fantastic on the day. On Sunday next our friends from Na Gaeil travel to Boherbee to play us in a challenge match. All players are to meet at the club at 10.30 am. New Players are welcome.

Girls Under 14's
We had our County League game against Legion Killarney last Wednesday evening in Killarney. This was a very strong Legion team against a young Mitchels team. The girls tried all the way and never gave up. The score line ended at 6-10 to 5-2 in Legions favour. The team was as follows:
Blathnaid Cotter, Rachel Mc Eniry, Lorna Moriarty, Isobel Horgan,Leona O Shea, Ashlinn Mc Cannon Brosnan, Ariane Finnigan, Sarah O Donoghue, Meave Carmody, Sharon O Connor, Ashleigh Murphy, Tara Fitzgearld, Leanne O Brien, Jade Powell, Sarah Kilgallen, Kellie Tobin and Chloe Murphy.
We wish Leona O Shea a speed recovery from her injury sustained in this match.
Our next game in the League is on Tuesday 19th June at home against Kerins O Rahillys. The match has a throw in at 6pm and a teamer will be issued when we meet at the clubhouse. All new members are welcome to join, come along Tuesday evening at 5-30pm and make yourself known to Jimmy, John or Joan.
U12 Girl
The girls played Abbeydorney at home in phase 2 of the county league last Monday evening the 11th of June & recorded another good win. Despite a slow start the girls gradually fought their way back into the game & aided by a strong breeze & some good finishing we were ahead at halftime. We started the second half with another quick goal but Abbeydorney were now coming more into the game & with the strong wind now at their backs they pushed us all the way to the finish but our backs held out with some great defending. The girls that played last Monday were as follows, Blaithnaid Cotter, Amy Foley, Isabel Horgan, Chloe Murphy, Oonagh McGrath, Bernice O Shea, Niamh O Shea, Jamie Finnegan, Jade Powell, Lauren Houlihan,Casey Ann O Donnell, Rachel Kilgallen, Ruth Moriarty,Grace Myers,Caitlin O Sullivan,Emma Carmody, Katie Laucher,Jemi John,Claire O Connor,Becky Fitzgerald,Lisa Costello,Clodagh O Sullivan, Maria Daly & Alanna Blenerhassett. We have Glenflesk away in our next match which is fixed for Monday the 18th of June & we also have Na Gaeil at home on Friday the 22nd of June at 6.00pm. We will keep the players updated by teamer in relation to any changes of times etc closer to the games. The players & mentors also want to wish a speedy recovery to our tough defender Aoife Kelliher after her recent operation & we hope to see her back in the green & gold shortly.A full list of the remaining fixtures are below but these are subject to change due to school tours etc around this time of year.Training continues every Wednesday Champers from 5.30pm - 6.30pm - this is subject to us having a mid-week game. We will be sending out TEAMERS to everyone that we have on our list but if you know any girls that want to play U12 football this year they are more than welcome. All you have to do is to come down to a training session & make yourself known to any of the mentors or club officials. The mentors involved looking after the girls this year are Rory Kilgallen, Cathy Carmody,Mike O Shea & Dan O' Connor.
