JOHN MITCHELS NOTES
ANNUAL JOHN MITCHELS BLITZ.
The Blitz for 2012 will take place on Saturday July 7th .
SUMMER CAMP
This year summer camp will commence on Monday July 16th from9.30am to 1.30pm daily and finish on Friday July 20th. This is for Boys and Girls under 6 to under 12,.s.
Cost €40 for one child and €39 for each additional family member.

RACE NIGHT.
We are holding a race night in the Club on Saturday July 14th as this will be one of our major Fundraisers for the year we hope you all come along for a night of fun and entertainment. If there is someone out there willing to sponsor a race the cost is €200 or €10 for a horse, €10For a Jockey and €10 for a Trainer. Sponsor form's can be got from any Club Officer.
QUIZ NIGHT
A Quiz will be held in the John Mitchels Club this Thursday night at 8-30pm.This is to raise funds for the upkeep of Boherbee and Urban Terrace where the.Residents are doing a great job and they have the area looking great. Tickets can be purchased on the night or from Eleanor in Dr. Bridget O'Brien's office.

John Mitchel's (A) 1-13 Churchill 3-5
We played at home in our first round County league fixture on Wednesday 20 June.
Both teams played well in the first half and were rewarded with some well taken scores.
We went on to score five points in the half but two goals late on from Churchill, left us four points down at half time.
We stepped up the pressure early in the second half and after scoring the opening point Akeem Molloy scored a great goal for a move that started in our own half. We had allot of the possession through most of the second half and although they scored their third goal to level the match in the final minutes, two points scored by James Duggan in quick succession from free-kicks secured the win for us on the night.

We played at home in our first round County league match on Thursday 21 June.
Conditions were bad on the night with heavy rain, but it didn't dampen the spirit of our lads who put in a great effort on the night.
St. Mls/Foilmore put out a strong team and lead by seven points at half time scoring a goal and nine points to our five point.
Second half we got off to the better start and were in touching distance of their score by just two points, with a goal from Cian O Brien and three points scored by Cian Casey, Aaron O Keeffe and David Ahern. The scored their second goal mid-way through the half and from there despite a great effort on our part we were behind for the remainder of the match.

U-16 LADIES
Training continues on Monday and Friday evening at 6.15 pm.
Girls Under 14's
We had our County League game against our neighbours Kerins O Rahilly's last Tuesday evening at Chamfers. This was a young Mitchels team that took to the field and showed great skill and determination. The girls led at half time by 1-2 Mitchels 0-1 K.O.R.. In the second half a tremendous performance by the whole team saw Mitchels pull away. Great defending and clearances by our backs gave excellent opertunities for the forwards who took great scores. There was great kick passing by the girls and they should be proud of their performances. The score line ended at4 -6 to John Mitchels 1-2 to K.o R. The team was as follows:

We were due to play Milltown/Listry last Sunday 24th June but was cancelled due to Milltown been unable to field a team. We have been awarded the points for this game. This ends our participation in the county league stage with 3 win and 4 loses. However 2 of these losses were by less then 3 points.
We now concentrate on the North Kerry league with training continuing at 6pm on Mondays All new members are welcome to join, come along and make yourself known to Jimmy, John or Joan.
U12 Girls
The girls played Glenflesk away & Na Gaeil at home last week in the county league.Despite missing a few regulars they recorded a good win against Glenflesk but the shortgage of troops was a bridge too far against a strong Na Gaeil side, which was their first defeat in a while.It also gave a few of the fringe players a chance of some game time which is what its all about & they were happy with the run out.We have a BYE this week so we have training on Wednesday & then Scartaglin at home on the 6th of July . The girls that played last week were as follows, Blaithnaid Cotter, Amy Foley, Isabel Horgan, Rebecca Dennehy, Oonagh McGrath, Bernice O Shea, Niamh O Shea, Caitlin O Sullivan, Jade Powell, Lauren Houlihan,Casey Ann O Donnell, Rachel Kilgallen, Ruth Moriarty,Grace Myers,,Emma Carmody, Katie Laucher, Allana Dennehy,Claire O Connor,Chloe Murphy,Becky Fitzgerald,Lisa Costello,Clodagh O Sullivan,Maria Daly & Alanna Blenerhassett. The players & mentors would also like to wish a speedy recovery to Rebecca Dennehy following her recent injury.A list of the fixtures are below but these are subject to change due to school tours etc around this time of year.Training continues every Wednesday Champers from 5.30pm - 6.30pm - this is subject to us having a mid-week game. We will be sending out TEAMERS to everyone that we have on our list but if you know any girls that want to play U12 football this year they are more than welcome. All you have to do is to come down to a training session & make yourself known to any of the mentors or club officials. The mentors involved looking after the girls this year are Rory Kilgallen, Cathy Carmody,Mike O Shea & Dan O' Connor.

The u-14 boys had a good victory over Kerins O'Rahilly's in the central District league on Monday last. The John Mitchels team and scorers were Dillon O'Connor, Eoin Barden, Shane Doyle, Aaron Pitman, Mark Ryle, Pat Kearney, Jonathon Downey, Ger Tobin (0-1), Gavin O'Brien (3-02), Michael Kelleher (2-01), Michael Walsh (5-04), Owen Breen (0-2), Denis Moriarty, Jack Myers (0-1), James Smullen, Jebin John, Brandon Tierney and Lee Browne. On Monday next they play away to St. Pats in round 2, match result in next week's notes.
U-12
The teams made it five out of five on Sunday last when they were victorious over Kilcummin in the final round of the county league, these were extraordinary games of football with once again some fantastic skills on show. This victory means that the lads are county league winners in their division. Well done to all involved.

On Sunday next we return to training in preparation for the annual blitz which will take place on July 7th, all players are to be at the club grounds for 10.30 am. New players are welcome.

The go games continue this week, we are the hosts this week; these games are fixed for Thursday evening beginning at 7.00 pm. On Sunday next we will continue training at the club grounds from 10.30 am in preparation for the annual club blitz. New Players are welcome.
