U-16
Kilcummin 0-12 John Mitchel's 2-13
We played away to Kilcummin in our 3rd round County league Match on Tuesday 3rd July 2012.
We got off to a great start and for the first fifteen minutes our lads got all the scores going into a one goal and six point lead. The goal scored by Kieran Mc Gee, and points from Akeem Molloy, James Duggan, Cian Sheridan and Gary Roche. At this point Kilcummin made an effort to get back in the game and registered two points before we scored two points our tally for the half. They went on to score three points without reply to narrow the gap to six points at half time. They started the second half as they ended the first and scored three points without reply to reduce our lead to just three points. Both teams played well throughout the half and picked off some great sores, as well as a very good defencive display by our backs. In the last minutes of the match we went on to score another goal, Kieran Mc Gee's second of the match and a final point from James Duggan he's seventh of the match to claim a well deserved win on the night.
On the Mitchel's Team: Josh O Reilly, David Ahern, Keith Madden, Billy Brassil, Marcus Sugrue, Cian Sheridan 0-2, Robert Mc Govern, Liam Gannon (Capt), Akeem Molloy 0-1, Gary Roche 0-2, Cian Casey, Aaron O Keeffe, Rian O Connor, Kieran Mc Gee 2-0, James Duggan 0-7, Robbie O Connor, Danny Houlihan, Cian O Brien, Jordan Bowler, Ger Dillon.
John Mitchel's (B) 2-11 Waterville/Dromid 9-9
We played at home to W'ville/Dromid in our 3rd round County league match on Wednesday 4th July 2012. The match was reduced to a eleven a-side encounter as per the rules as they could not not field a full team on the night despite this they had some very good players. This line up put us at a huge disadvantage as we had a panel of nineteen players, never the less our lads put in a great effort on the night and tried their best to cope with the change of a full pitch with ten outfield players. They scored a number of goals in quick succession and even though we went on to score 1-8 in the first half which was a good tally, we were well behind at the half time whistle. They scored two goals early in the second half and opened up a huge gap in the score line however our lads gave a great account of themselves and didn't let the score line put them off their game they kept the heads up throughout the match and registered some great scores with two goals from Dylan O Brien and eleven points in all scored by Cian Casey, Sean Fields, Cian O Brien Bailey Walsh and Robbie O Connor. Waterville/Dromid were worthy winners on the night and we wish them well in their remaining matches.
On the Mitchel's team: Josh O Reilly, Ger Dillon, Owen Mc Grath, Billy Brassil, Danny Houlihan, Jordan Bowler,Cian Casey 0-3 (Capt), Robert Mc Govern, Robbie O Connor 0-1, Sean Fields 0-1, Cian O Brien 0-1, Dylan O Brien 2-3, Bailey Walsh 0-2, Neill Byrne, Daniel Murphy, Stephen Reidy, Kieran Mc Gee, Marcus Sugrue, Billy Brassil, Aaron O Keeffe.

U-13
The u-13 team travelled to Killorglin on Sunday last to play Laune Rangers in the county league, although short a few regulars on the night due to holidays the boys the travelled gave 100% and played very well. We had a lot of stars on the night but the man of the match was awarded to goalkeeper supreme Owen Breen for his fantastic display on the night. Well done Owen. Players will be informed of the next fixture at training on Friday.
U-12
The team play away to Castleisland Desmonds on Friday next in preparation for the forthcoming Munster Blitz which will be held in Fitzgerald Stadium on Tuesday 17th July, in this blitz we will play against Macroom from Cork, Newcastlewest from Limerick and Castleisland Desmonds from Kerry, players will be given details of this blitz closer to the date
U12 Girls
The girls played Scartaglin at home last Friday evening in what can only be decscribed as the worst possible weather conditions that you could imagine so fair play to both teams for playing through the wind & rain. We were also short a few regulars which didnt help matters & finally ended up going down by 4 points. We have already qualified for the next round so it gave a few of the younger girls a chance of a runout which I dont think they were too happy about when the downpour started but theres great credit due to both teams for playing & braving the elements. We have Ballyduff away next Friday evening the 13th of July @ 6.00pm - this is subject to change but we should have a better indcation of times etc at training on Wednesday evening. The girls that played last week were as follows, Caitlin O Sullivan, Allana Dennehy,Isabel Horgan, Aoife Kelliher,Oonagh McGrath, Bernice O Shea,Maria Daly,Jamie Finnegan, Grace Myers, Claire O Connor,Lauren Houlihan,Rachel Kilgallen, Ruth Moriarty,Casey Ann O Donnell,Emma Carmody, Lisa Costello,& Alanna Blenerhassett. A list of the fixtures are below but these are subject to change due to school tours etc around this time of year.Training continues every Wednesday Champers from 5.30pm - 6.30pm - this is subject to us having a mid-week game. We will be sending out TEAMERS to everyone that we have on our list but if you know any girls that want to play U12 football this year they are more than welcome. All you have to do is to come down to a training session & make yourself known to any of the mentors or club officials. The mentors involved looking after the girls this year are Rory Kilgallen, Cathy Carmody,Mike O Shea & Dan O' Connor.
